Palaxy Tracks originally formed in the winter of 1995 under the name The Seven Hundred Club.

Friends Jason Masters, Greg Wallace and Brandon Durham got together on a regular basis to record noisy, experimental versions of old country and sugary pop songs by well-known performers (Skeeter Davis, Dolly Pardon, and Tanya Tucker to name a few). When these recordings fell into the hands of a local record label, they promptly contacted the band in hopes of a deal.

Before the record label would commit to anything though, they wanted to see them perform live. Up to this point, all instrumentation had been performed by either Jason or Brandon and to perform these songs in a live setting would be virtually impossible. Guitar tracks had been overdubbed and bounced in infinite proportions... vocals were heavily effected... vintage organs and prepared pianos on the verge of breakdown were milked of sounds not reproducible.

So, the band sought out fellow musicians to join them in trying to get as loyal a representation of the songs as possible.

After trying out a number of different

bass players and drummers, they finally found permanent members in Nathan Roberts (drums) and Keith Grap (bass).

Before the group could gather enough momentum to record or perform live, Jason and his wife had a baby that, rightfully, became his prime responsibility.

So, the band recruited Jay Benson to stand in on guitar, changed their name to Palaxy Tracks, and recorded Caught by a New Invention.

Jay was then replaced by Ted Cho and work on the next album, The Long Wind Down, began.

Produced by Ted and Brandon, TLWD took approximately two years to record. Since it's release in early 2000, the record has been revered by many critics and listeners alike, being called "#1 Texas release in 2000" by Michael Chamy of the Austin Chronicle.

Soon after it's release, Ted moved away and was replaced by Brad Murph.

The band is now living in Chicago and working on new material for a new album with their new drummer, Joe.
